Larry and Patty are the founder and co-directors of Village Harmony which for the past 18 years has inspired hundreds of singers and their audiences with their charismatic teaching of ethnic harmony singing traditions from throughout the world. They have both worked extensively with native teachers and led dozens of Village Harmony study and performing camps in Georgia, Corsica, Bulgaria and South Africa to study these traditions first hand. Patty is about to publish the second volume of a collection of South African songs and dances with teaching CDs and video. Both Larry and Patty are strong singers with wonderfully clear, concise and infectiously joyous teaching styles whose passion for honest, direct music coaxes fierce, forthright singing out of even the most timid singers.
The workshop is open to all interested singers, ages 12 and up.
Music reading helpful, but not necessary – most songs taught by ear.
